This Fried Pickle Dip features a creamy ranch base loaded with dill pickles and topped with crispy fried onions. All the flavors you love from fried pickles, in a dip form. This easy recipe is ready in just 10 minutes - no electric mixer required!

Pickle pops, pickle flavored potato chips and one kid who sneaks pickle juice from the jar with a straw. If there's a pickle flavored snack, we've probably tried it in this house, thanks to my kids.
Fried pickles as an appetizer are pretty common around here. As any fried pickle connoisseur knows, they taste best with homemade buttermilk ranch.
This recipe results in an easy to make dip consisting of a creamy ranch base, plenty of dill pickles, spices and crispy onion strings to top it off. Perfect appetizer for Super Bowl parties, game days, or summer potlucks.

Ingredients for Fried Pickle Dip
- Whipped Cream Cheese - Makes the dip easy to mix together and adds creaminess.
- Sour Cream - I have used light and regular sour cream, either will work.
- Ranch Seasoning Packet - I used the Hidden Valley Ranch 1 oz. dressing packet for ease.
- Spices: Garlic powder, onion powder and dried dill
- Dill Pickles - The recipe uses 3-4 medium size dill pickles. I like to start with the whole pickle. Be sure to choose a pickle you actually like the flavor of. Recipe tested with Vlasic Kosher Dills and H-E-B Pickle Me Dilley Whole Pickles.
- Lemon Juice - It uses the juice of ½ lemon to make the dip smoother.
- Crispy Fried Onions - These help give the dish that "fried" flavor with no extra steps of toasting bread crumbs.
What kind of pickles to use?
You want to use a Kosher Dill Pickle such as Vlasic. I like to use the whole pickles, but you could use spears too.
Be sure you like the taste of the pickles you are using in this recipe.
How to Make
This dip is ready in less than 10 minutes!

- Combine cream cheese, sour cream and dried seasonings.

- Fold in chopped pickles. Stir in lemon juice.

- Place in serving dish and top with crushed, crispy fried onions just before serving.
Serving and Storage
Serving: I recommend chilling the dip for at least 30 minutes prior to serving. When ready to serve, place dip in serving dish and top with crushed crispy fried onions.
This makes 3 cups of dip. I like to put out half of the dip at a time. You'll need an extra ¼ cup of crispy fried onions if you do this.
Storage: Store dip in the refrigerator in an airtight container. I found this dip is best if eaten within 3 days.
What to serve with fried pickle dip?
I recommend serving the dip with a thick, wavy or ridged potato chip, cucumber slices, celery, or whole grain crackers like wheat thins.
