Easy recipe for the best Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies! Soft, chewy and full of chocolate chips. No chilling or shaping required.

These are the perfect cookies if you have a house divided between chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies. They have all the peanut butter flavor and chewiness you would expect from a peanut butter cookie, but with the addition of chocolate chips. Plus, they are a drop cookie that requires no chill-time or shaping.
This easy recipe makes a big batch of cookies, perfect for a weekend treat, after-school snack or Holiday baking.

Ingredients
- Butter: Unsalted butter that is softened to room temperature.
- Peanut Butter: A smooth, creamy Peanut Butter. I tested with Jif. This recipe has not been tested with natural peanut butter.
- Sugars: A combination of granulated and light brown sugar for taste and texture.
- Eggs
- Vanilla Extract
- Salt and baking soda: For enhancing the sweetness and providing a little lift for the cookies.
- All-Purpose Flour: Recipe tested using unbleached AP flour. Be sure to carefully measure your dry ingredients. I like to spoon the flour into the measuring cup and then level it off with a butter knife.
- Chocolate Chips: You can use a milk chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate chip for this recipe. For extra PB flavor, mix in some peanut butter chips.
How to make
A brief visual overview of making the cookies. Full recipe card at bottom of page.

- Prepare cookie dough. Cream together butters and sugars until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes). Add eggs and vanilla extract and beat till combined. Gradually add dry ingredients.

- Add chocolate chips.

- Bake. Scoop dough onto parchment lined baking sheets. Bake in preheated oven until cookies have golden brown edges and still slightly soft centers.

- Cool. Remove cookies from the oven and let cool.
Baking Tips for Soft & Chewy Cookies
- Avoid over baking. Cookies are done when the edges are golden brown and the center still looks soft. If you over bake the cookies, they will turn out to be a crisper cookie.
- Let cookies rest on baking sheet. Remove cookies from the oven and let cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes. The cookie centers will continue to bake slightly on the pan.
- Transfer to wire rack. Carefully transfer cookies to wire rack and allow them to cool completely.
- Don't skip cooling steps. If you remove from the baking pan too quickly, they can start to crumble.

Variations
- Sprinkle with sea salt.
- Mix-in ½ cup of chopped peanuts for some crunch.
- Use a combination of peanut butter and chocolate chips.

Storage
Storage: Store completely cooled cookies an airtight container. Cookies will last 7 days at room temperature.
Freezing baked cookies: Freeze cooled and baked cookies to preserve freshness. Thaw at room temperature. I find that these particular cookies freeze wonderfully.
